Each year, we solicit nominations for the Martha’s Excellence in Service Award. This award recognizes four exceptional employees at one of the Covenant Health Lethbridge sites. The winners attend the Harvest Moon Ball with a guest, and are recognized publicly there. The winners are also nominated on behalf of the Lethbridge sites for a Covenant Health Mission Award. This year’s Martha’s Excellence in Service Award recipients are:

Liz Frank works in the Post Acute Rehabilitation Program at St. Michael’s Health Centre. Liz was nominated for this award by 4 of her co-workers. They indicated that her skills and generosity have promoted a sense of team work on her unit. She is always mindful in her duties, and she is able to successfully prioritize her duties while being resourceful, supportive, and creative. She is a reliable staff member who goes above and beyond to professionally show respect to her team and the patients whom she serves.
Other employees have verbalized how much they appreciate the work Liz does and how they benefit from her knowledge and actions. The nurses in her unit describe her as a mentor to other Health Care Aides with her calm, non-threatening and inspiring approach. She has sound clinical knowledge and a commitment to the people she cares for. She is a steward of our resources and has sought out opportunities to creatively fundraise on behalf of the unit. She constantly gives of herself in a quiet, unassuming manner. She is a great example of someone who naturally applies the Covenant Health promise of creating a culture that allows team members to flourish. We were excited to present Liz with the Martha’s Excellence in Service Award. Congratulations Liz Frank!
